Three original plays from Sinclair Theatre’s recent Student Showcase have been selected to be performed at the Region III Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival held at Michigan State University in Lansing, MI January 4-8.

The Student Showcase was presented in Blair Hall Theatre on December 2-3, and consisted of a series of plays written, directed, designed and performed by Sinclair students. The three plays invited to the festival are: Waiting by John Ray; Betwixt Two Trees and NEXT by Derek Dunavent.

“We are extremely proud of our students,” said Stephen Skiles, chair of Sinclair Theatre. “We had more than 30 students take part in this opportunity to create new work and it was a valuable experience for each of them. Getting to perform at the festival and interact with 2000 theatre professionals and students is an incredible extension to the process.”
