New agreement between Sinclair and Central State
Central State University and Sinclair sign an agreement to further education beyond Associates degrees.
This agreement provides students with an easy transition into a four-year university and is a part of Central States’ “Speed to Scale” initiative. Speed to Scale increases enrollment by creating partnerships with local universities so the university can reach a scale where the necessity for a supplement is removed. These funds will be redirected to programs across the state that educate additional students who will promote the state’s economic growth.
Once students have taken the required courses at Sinclair for early childhood education, criminal justice, environmental engineering, industrial technology and manufacturing engineering they will receive full credit and can enter Central State’s corresponding program.
Ohio’s only public historically black university, Central State had a fall 2008 enrollment of 2,200 and hopes to have 3,000 students by 2010 and 6,000 by 2017 while Sinclair plans on making similar agreements with other local universities.
