The staples of any wardrobe

Choosedayton.com celebrates what makes the Dayton region such a great place to live and to work.

Last year NCR Corporation announced that it was moving its headquarters to Atlanta. Sinclair Community College’s Workforce Development & Corporate Services (WFD&CS) convened a group of community leaders to proactively address the issue of retaining the talent of this exceptional workforce. The result was the creation of choosedayton.com, an information portal focused on retaining and attracting talent. The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce – in partnership with Dayton Daily News, Sinclair and TDH Marketing – took a leadership role, leveraging its resources and infrastructure.

Although originally developed with the NCR employees in mind, choosedayton.com – by its very name – was created to answer the question “Why should I choose Dayton?” The web portal highlights the strengths and benefits of the Dayton region and the resources available.

“Choosedayton.com celebrates what makes the Dayton region such a great place to live and to work,” said Phil Parker, president and CEO of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. “This website provides a central location to tell Dayton’s story, letting others know all we have to offer, promoting vital regional statistics and dispelling common misperceptions.”

Focusing on the vision for choosedayton.com, Deb Norris, vice president of WFD&CS, noted that “retaining and attracting workforce talent is imperative to our overall regional workforce strategy. It is our vision that efforts such as choosedayton.com will assist the region in retaining and attracting talent, which will lead to economic-development success.”
